26-Jan-03 : NO BASIS FOR WAR, NO BASES FOR WAR
GWI invites everyone to come and inspect USAF Fairford. This coincides with the last day of inspections for the UN inspectors in Iraq before Hans Blix reports to the Security Council on the 27th. Also read the message of support from Ann Pettitt one on the initiators of the Greenham Common peace movement.

14-Jan-03: Press release for 26 Jan: "Will Fairford Become Blair's Greenham?"

12-Jan-03 : GWI Use Bicycles To Inspect Base
Unlike the UN inspectors in Iraq we can't afford to use helicopters so GWI toured the lanes surrounding the Fairford airbase by bicycle. This will give us good opportunity to study the base from all angles - read our inspection report.

14-Dec-02 : Mass inspection at Fairford by 500+ civilian inspectors. Read our report

MOD Logo13-Dec-2002 : Support the "B-2 or not B-2 campaign" has your MP been consulted about giving permission to bomb Iraq from Fairford? - We just got a letter from the MOD which says the UK Government must be fully consulted before Fairford can be used operationally by USAF.

B-2 WANTED leaflet7-Dec-2002 : Gloucestershire Weapons Inspectors repond to reports of a rogue B-2 Stealth Bomber in Stroud. Unfortunately we are unable to prevent a collateral damage incident.

Investigations update : We are focussing on the B-2 Stealth bomber and will be attempting to capture one to put on public trial for war crimes. See our B-2 Wanted For Questioning poster. Read more on how to spot a B-2 bomber and what to do if you do.

2-Dec-2002 : Gloucestershire Weapons Inspectors support Warzone Whitehall action

31-Oct-2002 : Gloucestershire Weapons Inspeactors denied access to USAF Fairford

In support of the "Don't Attack Iraq" national day of action, as called for by Tony Benn and Stop The War coalition, Gloucestershire Weapons Inspectors visited USAF Fairford and requested access to search for weapons of mass destruction. For more details see Action Reports or click the picture below.

After performing a short theatrical production in which we asked permission to enter the base we were denied access. We left a letter with the letter for the base commander saying "DON'T ATTACK IRAQ" and departed for home. Our final message was "WE WILL BE BACK".
