WANTED FOR QUESTIONING - B-2 Stealth Bomber
We are appealing to members of the public to help us locate a stealth
bomber.
Please
be careful - the B-2 is armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
The Wilts & Glos Standard reports that "Deadly" B-2 Stealth
bombers, which could be used as part of an attack on Iraq, are to be housed
as RAF Fairford. The US Airforce is building five shelters to store the
futuristic B-2s at the base at a cost of more than £6.5 million.
The B-2 is the worlds most advanced bomber (price tag £1.7 billion)
and is capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear weapons.
How To Spot a B-2 Stealth Bomber
The
B-2 Stealth Bomber is a tricky customer to spot. Official sources say
- Its low-observable, or "stealth," characteristics give it
the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses.
This picture shows the most likely view you'll have of the aircraft.
It has an unmistakable shape and whilst invisible to radar can readily
be detected with the unaided human ear.
If you spot a B-2 in or around Gloucestershire please notify Gloucestershrie
Weapons Inspectors by email at b2sighting@gwi.org.uk
Here's a copy of the letter that we've sent to local newspapers (in
this case the SNAJ) requesting public help in apprehending a B-2.
Dear Editor,
The Gloucestershire Weapons Inspectors would like to request the help
of readers of the Stroud News and Journal. We are a group of concerned
citizens seeking to uncover and eliminate all weapons of mass destruction
from Gloucestershire. We have compiled a dossier of evidence but have
so far met with only obstruction in our attempts to inspect possible weapons
sites. As a consequence we have decided to appeal to the decent and fair
minded people of Stroud to aid us in our task.
At this time we seek any information the public can provide as to the
whereabouts of any B-2 Stealth Bombers. Our dossier contains evidence
of at least one site within the county that has recently been enhanced,
at great public expense, to provide a base for these aircraft. The B-2
is the most expensive and sophisticated aircraft ever built and has recently
been adapted to carry special mini-nuclear weapons developed for use in
Iraq. We are seeking to apprehend a B-2 for questioning into its intentions
regarding the possible attack on Iraq and also its role in delivering
"weapons of indiscriminate effect" in previous conflicts.
We believe there is little more than a legal distinction between weapons
of mass destruction, nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and weapons
of indiscriminate effect. The latter include cluster bombs, depleted uranium
and natural uranium alloy bombs, which have devastating long term effects
on the civilian population in regions where they are used. Cluster bombs
litter unexploded bomblets over wide areas which can maim and kill for
many years after a war has occurred. Depleted and natural uranium weapons
spread a deadly radioactive poison causing cancers and birth defects,
problems that are already being reported as a result of the bombing in
Afghanistan last year. The radiation from these bombs persists in the
environment for thousands of years.
The B-2 is designed to deliver these weapons and is implicated in their
use in Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan. It is vital to our investigations
that we gain access to one prior to the start of another war in Iraq.
To this end we would request any member of the public who has seen these
aircraft or has any information relating to them please contact us via
our website www.gwi.org.uk. Further information relating to identification
and capability of the B-2 Stealth Bomber can also be found on our website.
Yours Sincerely, David J Cockcroft, Bsc Physics.
Self styled Chief Weapons Inspector.
