31 October 2002 : Visit to Inspect USAF Fairford for Weapons of Mass Destruction

At 8.30am we arrived at the base in the Cotswold Tours bio-diesel bus and discussed arrangements with the personnel on the gate. We explained that their own PR man was quoted in the local newspaper as saying "It is every citizen's right to protest". They were quite happy for us to do our thing provided we did not try to enter the base.

We performed a short theatrical sketch - see script below - in which we requested access to the base, were refused and departed telling them we'll be back. We left a giant sized letter to the base commander saying "Dont' Attack Iraq". We were pleased to have a good range of media covering the event. The nice policemen escorted us all the way home to Stroud.
